About the Open Call

• Open Call: COSMIC 2nd Open Call.
• Application period: 15 May 2026, 08:00 – 15 July 2026, 17:00 (Brussels Time).
• Eligible applicants: Individual SMEs, including start-ups, in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
• Challenges: Applicants may respond to one of 16 challenges focused on AI- and data-driven energy resource optimisation. The full list of challenges is available in the Technical Guidelines.
• Scope of activities: Develop, test, validate, and integrate innovative AI-based services and solutions within COSMIC’s energy resource optimisation ecosystem. Selected applicants will work with COSMIC’s AI-driven platforms, datasets, and large-scale pilots across six European countries: Spain, Belgium, Portugal, France, Ireland, and Finland.
• Funding available: Up to 150,000 EUR per FSTP beneficiary. Non-profit SMEs and start-ups may receive up to 100% of eligible costs, while other SMEs and start-ups may receive up to 70% of eligible costs.
• Support available: 10-month technical and business mentoring programme.
• Number of projects to be selected: Up to 13 projects.

Selected beneficiaries will validate their technologies in real-world pilots, gain access to diverse datasets, receive tailored technical and business mentoring, and collaborate with leading industrial and research partners across Europe.

What do we offer?

COSMIC provides a strategic 10-month support programme combining technical and business mentoring, solution development, pilot testing, and market readiness support. Beneficiaries will receive guidance from COSMIC’s Core Technical Facilitators or Core Social Facilitator to integrate their AI- and data-driven solutions into the project ecosystem. Relevant results may be disseminated through COSMIC’s communication channels and, where applicable, made available through shared repositories following open access and FAIR data principles.
