Funded by the European Union, FIERCE supports European SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups in using downstream space technologies to create, improve and adopt greener business solutions.

Through the Financial Support Program, FIERCE helps selected SMEs contract External Service Providers to develop, upscale, commercialise or adopt space-enabled green solutions that contribute to more sustainable and circular business practices, processes and partnerships.

What the Program Supports

Space-enabled green solutions: FIERCE supports solutions that use downstream space technologies, including Earth Observation, remote sensing and satellite navigation, to reduce environmental impact.

Innovation from idea to market: The program can support projects ranging from early-stage ideas to more advanced solutions ready for scale-up, commercialisation or adoption.

External expert support: Selected SMEs can use the funding to contract External Service Providers that deliver technical, business, social, environmental or financing-related services.

Impact for companies or their users: Supported solutions may help SMEs reduce their own environmental footprint or develop products and services that help their customers become more sustainable.

Who Can Apply

The Financial Support Program targets SMEs based in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries that can demonstrate their potential to leverage downstream space data and services for positive environmental impact.

Environmental focus: Proposed solutions should contribute to areas such as circularity, resource efficiency, waste management, sustainable raw materials management or environmental monitoring.

Use of space data: Applicants should show how downstream space technologies can support the development, improvement or adoption of their solution.
